[1974] ∞ Infinito

When I decided to photograph the sky every day for a whole year, I also wanted to confront the impossibility of translating natural phenomena. In Infinity, the sequence of 365 photographs, accounting for an entire year, is insufficient and does not constitute an image of the sky. […] Infinity thus constitutes a potential chroatic atlas of the sky – 365 possible skies. […] Thus, the work expresses the limits of photography; and yet it is in this impossible delimitation of the physical world, of nature and of man, that photography aquires value and meaning.
