Certificates of authenticity
Certificates of authenticity are issued exclusively by the heirs of Luigi Ghirri following a direct examination of the work. To request authentication of an original photograph by Luigi Ghirri, please send an email to: info@fondazioneluigighirri.it including:
- Scans of the front and back of the print
- Dimensions
- Information on the provenance and any changes of ownership of which you are aware
Copyright and Use
All works, photographs, books and writings by Luigi Ghirri are protected by copyright and intellectual property law. The Heirs of Luigi Ghirri hold the copyright, intellectual property rights and moral rights to his creative works. For any reproduction or use, on any existing or future physical or digital medium, written authorization must be obtained from the Heirs following a formal request. Requests for authorization must clearly specify the purpose (educational, editorial, commercial, etc.) and the type of use.
Any unauthorized use of the works constitutes a breach of copyright law and entails civil and criminal liability under current legislation, with the consequent possibility of legal action by the rights holders to protect the works, cease the unlawful use and claim compensation for any damages caused.
The Luigi Ghirri Foundation must receive at least one (1) copy of any publication or material in which the artist’s works are reproduced, within six months of its release.
