In this work I wanted to highlight the historically new nature (in terms of both size and repetitive scale) of images in the public domain. Aside from considering the obvious invasive nature of advertising pervading the urban environment, I decided to use a series within the main sequence of the work to examine the serial and repetitious nature of this modern imagery, because, even when used to transmit very different messages, the images are conceived and structured in exactly the same way. The result is a fresco for our time, seemingly analogous to the frescoes in churches and public buildings that we know so well.
